Create Guided Training

Guided training helps managers turn a timely situation into a short assigned practice task. Each guided training item includes:

• A staff brief
• Source material from the Content Library
• Learning goals
• One voice practice scenario
• Optional staff assignments

Guided training is intentionally lightweight. It is not a full LMS course builder, and it does not create multi-lesson courses, certificates, quizzes, or SCORM packages.

Before You Start

For best results, upload source material first:

1. Go to Training Setup.
2. Open Content Library.
3. Upload a supported file: PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, or CSV.
4. Wait until the content status shows Ready.

Ready content has been processed into text chunks Oliver can use when generating a draft and building scenario context.

Create a Guided Training Draft

1. Go to Training Setup.
2. Open Scenarios.
3. Select Create Guided Training.
4. Enter a clear training title, such as Fuel Crisis Battery Backup.
5. Describe why the training is needed.
6. Select any relevant source material.
7. Choose a topic and difficulty.
8. Adjust the interaction style sliders if needed.
9. Select Generate Draft.

Oliver generates a draft containing a staff brief, suggested learning goals, success criteria, a suggested behaviour, and source snippets used from your content.

Review the Draft

Before publishing, check:

• The staff brief explains why the training matters.
• The learning goals match what staff need to demonstrate.
• The selected source snippets are relevant.
• The tone feels right for your team.

You can edit the staff brief and learning goals directly before publishing.

Publish and Assign

In the assignment section:

1. Select one or more staff members.
2. Optionally add a due date.
3. Set a target score if you want staff to retry until they pass.
4. Select Publish Training.

Publishing creates a real Scenario and, if staff are selected, creates assignments for those users. Staff launch the training from their assigned practice area and complete it as a voice practice call.

What Staff See

Staff see the assigned training as a practice assignment. When they start it, Oliver shows:

• The staff brief
• What they need to demonstrate
• The voice call launch button

After the call, Oliver saves the practice session and updates the assignment status automatically.

View the Assignment Report

After publishing, return to Training Setup > Scenarios and open the report for the scenario. The assignment report shows:

• Total assigned staff
• Completed staff
• Staff who need to retry
• Overdue assignments
• Average score
• Attempts by staff member
• Latest activity date

Use the report to see who has completed the training and who may need follow-up.

Statuses

Assignments can show these states:

Status	Meaning
Pending	The staff member has not opened the assignment yet
Viewed	The assignment has been opened
In Progress	The staff member has started practice
Needs Retry	The latest attempt did not meet the completion rule
Completed	The staff member completed the required attempt or met the target score

If an assignment has a due date in the past and is not completed, it is treated as overdue.

Tips

• Keep the staff brief short. One or two paragraphs is usually enough.
• Use source material for facts and product details, not for long-form course content.
• Start with one voice practice scenario per training item.
• Use manual scenario creation when you need detailed persona control.

Troubleshooting

If the draft does not use the uploaded material:

• Confirm the content status is Ready.
• Confirm the content has a chunk count greater than zero.
• Reattach the source material and regenerate the draft.

If staff cannot see the assignment:

• Confirm the assignment was created for the correct staff member.
• Confirm the staff member belongs to the same organization.
• Confirm the scenario is active.

If completion does not update:

• Confirm the staff member launched practice from the assignment card.
• Confirm the practice session completed successfully.
• Confirm the assignment target score and required-attempt settings.
